I'm so excited! I chatted on IM for awhile today with my aunt and cousin who are very talented quilters and we were talking about some cute ideas that would be so easy to sew...I think my cousin may start an ETSY shop as well! I think it would be great for her to do and easy concidering she's got the talent to whip up some neat things! We talked about lots of specialty items for children.....monogrammed aprons, humbug bags, taggie blankies, etc. I can't wait to see what she whips up! She is blaming me for the crazy amount of money she spent today on fabric-lol.

She also got a fire lit under my butt and got me to the quilt store for my first try at applique on Chloe's jeans-this should be interesting....lol. Only issue now is I cannot get ahold of the fabric that I saw online that I LOVE but isn't carried in town. I hate waiting. I don't want to order and wait-sigh...Going to attempt to attach a pic of that awesome fabric-it's by Michael Miller...

I have also made the cutest glass alphabet beads the other day and will (hopefully tomorrow) make Chloe's necklace...I'm thinking about listing these alphabet beads on etsy as a custom order-they're so cute and I think once I get this all put together it will be precious! I'll post a pic once it's finished...

Computer issues

I think it's about time for a new laptop. This one has decided to go psycho-scrollbar works when it wants to, can't pull up my mail right now, gets really sensitive and starts doing things on it's own like it's possessed-tired of it. Trav must be too since I found him on teh Dell website this morning looking around.

Not fun when you're trying to list new items and it goes ballistic. sigh. ANYHOW-I just listed a new item-a cute little keychain. I've been playing around w/ using white backgrounds instead of black for my photos as well and I think I may have finally gotten the hang of it-:) I'm getting there anyway.......
I've got a few new items to list over the next couple of days providing the computer cooperates...

Yum!

Last night's school play was so cute. It was 3 Billy Goat's Gruff and the 1st graders got to sing while the 2cd graders were the actors. Loved their little homemade goat masks-lol.
I've been on a lemon kick for months-guess you could say it's my one weird craving w/ this pregnancy. Just sounds refreshing and yummy and makes me think of summer. I found this recipe while in Florida over x-mas break in Southern Living mag and finally made it last week-it was so good I'm making it for Easter. Here's the recipe...
No Cook Lemonade Pie
2 5oz evaporated milk
2 3.4oz pkgs lemon instant pudding
2 8oz cream cheese (softened)
1 3oz cream cheese (softened)
1 12oz frozen lemonade concentrate-partially thawed
1 graham cracker pie crust
cool whip for topping if you'd like
Whisk together the evap milk and pudding mix for 2 minutes or til thickened.
Beat cream cheeses at med speed w/ electric mixer (do make sire they're really soft first-my mixer started smelling like it was burning up! lol) until fluffy. Add lemonade concentrate, beating til blended, add pudding mix and beat again til blended.
Pour into pie crust and freeze for 4 hours or til firm.
The main thing I noticed is: This made SO MUCH-I had that graham cracker pie crust heaping and there was still enough left for another pie! So for easter I'll do a graham cracker crust in a 9x13 pan and pour onto that and top w/ cool whip-should still be nice and thick and yum! Not too tart or overly sweet-it was so good!

Chloe has no idea that Travis didn't go out of town as planned for work this morning and is going to be so surprised when he comes home tonite and is able to go to her play! Hopefully I'll get a cute pic to be able to post on here from the play.

I was able to get a few cute beads made this morning during Gabe's nap. I hear the kiln ramping down and can't wait to pull them out.....My little experiment didn't work out so hot the other day so I have figured out another way to make it work out...Too bad-but this new way is still super cute and will end up looking almost identical.

So Gabe's newest "toy" is a short plastic laundry hamper that he likes to sit in and read books, etc. I drug that in when he was trying to squeeze himself into my new magazine basket and was tired of helping him out since he'd really get himself stuck in there-not to mention he was going to pull it out of shape.

Spring fever has officially hit me. I have been so antsy I've spent the last few days starting with my spring cleaning. I can't wait for the weather to even out-it's been such a gross winter and I need some sunshine!!
I woke up excited that it was finally Monday knowing my shipment should arrive today-completely forgetting that it is coming UPS and we always seem to be at the end of their route at like 6 pm...:(
Oh well....
Busy week full of dr appts, Gabe's labwork, Chloe's spring play-(Three Billygoats Gruff), a couple of haircuts and highlights and getting ready for Easter...Hopefully I can even get to my little project! My aunt has also asked for a custom piece I'll need to get busy on once we settle on exactly what she wants...I'll attach a pic once I whip it up...
That's it for now. Boring rainy day.....

Not much to say today. Just listed a new necklace on etsy. Kinda cute for spring. Went to Chloe's school today for a parent/child math thing and got to talk to her teacher for quite awhile about things. Always nice to get the inside scoop that you don't hear from your kid everyday (plus it's always great to hear how good she's doing and that she's a good kid in general). :)
Well,my project I wanted to work on this weekend will have to be on hold i guess...bummer. Had to make an order yesterday for some supplies I needed that won't come until Monday-maybe I'll try to work on something different this weekend then work on that next week...I just hate when I have an idea and can't do it NOW. Instant gratification kind of person I guess...especially since I"m excited about it. Just hope what I have pictured and how it turns out will be the same...

Experiment

Ok so I said it wasn't all that cute right? Here's the goofy off mandrel heart i was experimenting with yesterday-wish I could figure out taking pictures on a white background-they just never turn out as good.

It's supposed to be 62 degrees out today! :) Will be nice to get out and walk to pick Chloe up from school.

Kaleidoscope

This just listed on Etsy...
Wish I could figure out how to move pictures around in these posts-they always end up at the top.
Well, my beads from yesterday turned out soooooo cute. Issue is I'm having a hard time getting them to go together how I imagined them sooooooo-I may have to rivit them together-which I really didn't want to have to do since that means making an order for tubing first-sigh. I may just sit on it for a couple of days and see if I have a light bulb go off. I did, however, make my first off-mandrel bead today. I'm not saying it's gorgeous or anything-and it did end up cracking so I melted in allll of the surface decoration jus to salvage it-telling myself all the while "this is just practice-who cares if it's not as cute as it was before-it's just practice for off mandrel" too bad I spend forever on it and used a ton of glass-I should have started smaller huh? oh well...
OH MY GOODNESS!! It's 50 degrees out and I am officially hearing the FIRST sounds of spring-the ice cream man is driving down the street! lollll...

Yea!

I am so excited! Yesterday I sat and stared blankly at my idea notebook then all of a sudden a bunch of ideas started hitting. Today was my first chance to torch in over a week or more so I sat down and picked some fun spring colors and got to work trying to create something from my sketches...The kiln is ramping down now and can I say how antsy I am to see how the beads turned out?? I'll wire it all together tomorrow and see what happens....hopefully I'll have 3 new cuties to list this week...

I'll have to attach my 3rd piece I listed yesterday-it's so nice and light. I've made many stamped pieces over the past few years including linked bracelets, cuff bracelets and necklace pendants-they're so fun to do and usually are personalised with children's names. (at least mine are- lol)

Daylight savings

Ugh, between this cloudy day and daylight savings I just can't seem to get up and do anything creative. I cleaned, mopped-all that fun stuff but now I feel like a bump on a log. Chloe has some sort of internal alarm clock that woke her up at the time she always wakes up-so no sleeping in for me...

I now have 3 listings on etsy. Lots of views so far and a super sweet note from someone today sent thru a convo---

"I adore your items! I just came across them and wanted you to know that I am bookmarking your page. Your shop looks awesome."

Isn't that sweet??

I'm thinking I should pull out my notebook and start sketching some ideas rolling around in there... :)

Etsy!!

Holy Moly-where do I start? This is new to me-lol.

Well, I just created my ETSY page and listed my first item last night. Pretty exciting!! I can't wait to see how it goes... I wonder if I can figure out how to attach photos on here-woooooo this is going to be a fun process.......

Hey check it out! I attached a pic-lol. This is my new listing....
