Wishing all of you a very wonderful New Year 2013!

This will be another low-key year at home with the kids.
Take out pizza, smore's in the oven, rental movies...
Fine by me :)
I've been too busy feeling like I'm swallowing knives to do anything else. I wonder if I'll even make it to midnight? (I didn't last year)
I want to take a moment to thank everyone for their business this year!!I truely love what I do~thanks SO MUCH for all of your support!

This Christmas.......

Now that Christmas is over we've been blissfully hunkered down watching movies and playing lots of video games and putting Lego sets together. We were lucky enough to have oddly warm weather earlier this month which made shopping for gifts quicker and easier.

Hello!
My grandmother's cherry delite-mmm.
School Christmas parties :)
A nice visit with our grandmother
My brother and his family visited!
Handmade gifts :)
Practing up for his next visit to "sing-song beach"
Thanks to Grandma for the bongos :)

Christmas shopping in flip flops :)
I kinda dug it.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!
I for one am on the fence over taking the trees down. I think it's just the antsiness of all the packaging and extra "stuff" laying around.

I told myself once the trees were down and New Years and the dreaded birthday were over that it would be time to start on the master bedroom makeover...Can't wait!

Should be a great time-come by if you're in the area!
This will be in lieu of my normal holiday show/party at our house...
My last show of the year :)

Fall walk

These are from a few weeks back...blogger hasn't been very cooperative with letting me upload photos lately-which is exactly why I never post. Now that I've figured out I can only upload 2 at a time I might be back in business-lol.

So we had a GORGEOUS day a few weeks back and decided to take a hike on some trails we'd never been on out in Glenarm at the Covered Bridge. It's so pretty out there...

There were even 2 abandoned old cars out in the middle of the woods-the kids thought that was the coolest thing :)

I'm so glad we decided to be spontaneous that day and drive out there for a hike. We need to do that more often...

As a matter of fact: this weekend is supposed to be in the mid to high 60's!! I love it (hate the cold!) Maybe we should try to go somewhere again...although now there are no leaves left on the trees so it wouldn't be as pretty...But I guarantee we'll spend all of our time this weekend outside :)

Edwards Place: recap

Last weekend flew by. One second I was setting up and the next I was tearing down and waving goodbye to the new artist friends I'd made...

I really need to get listing back on Etsy-it's been awhile...
I am loving this copper bracelet. Tempting to keep for myself. ;)
Might have to make a few more of those.

It's been a few years since making any new bangles. I thought I'd leave out the hollow beads so it would set closer to the skin...I like.

Now....I'm just trying to sit back and breathe. My next 2 shows are early November followed by my annual holiday show.

Applications are already starting for next year. I hate trying to get good jury photos. This year I am going to try and be *brave* and venture outside of Springfield. eep....wish me luck!

InstaFriday

Ok, so I have a recent obbsession with Instagram...LOVE it. And I swear half of my pics are even better than with my expensive Canon! I love the spur of the moment shots that are captured and I love even more looking through my album on Tumblr seeing all the random squares all in a grid having nothing to w/ anyother-it makes me happy and makes me remember just how full my life truely is.

Here is a huge shark's tooth I always played w/ when I was little. Gabe found it at Papa's house the other day and asked me about it. Funny since Trav's brother was just talking about huge sharksteeth and how I told him we'd had one but hadn't seen it in years...
Dad was a Navy diver and we had all sorts of cool stuff like that :)

Feverishly getting ready for the next art fair (this weekend). Just one of the bracelets I've made.

Caught Sawyer making his bed without me asking me. Can you picture me creeping up the hall to take this without him seeing me?

Chloe just had to have this pencil pouch from Big Lots. It's hilarious! And it's one long zipper to boot-crazy!

Handful of beads after cleaning...

Stage 2 (teen dance club) reunion last weekend. My old friend, Tashia, who I hadn't seen in about 20 years...

More jewelry I'd been working on...

Mock table arrangement for art fair on the deck w/ my helper...

My gal all decked out.

Rainy day bounce house in the basement.

Gabe's first kindergarten project :)
all based on his interests...

Gabe turned 6!!!

"I'm a T-Rex goalie!"
but of coarse you are...

Funny things I find from the boys-they always make life (and my ceiling fan) interesting :)

Off to the Edward's Place art fair in the morning~wish me luck!

Upcoming

Gearing up for the fall art fairs around here...6 weeks from yesterday-it's countdown time!

I've been fairly lax making beads this summer and it's time to kick it in gear-but with school registration, school starting, hopefully a couple small trips or fun things mixed in this might be interesting. How does it always sneak up on me?

Edwards Place fine art fair Sept 15&16
Hope Church fine art fair Nov 3&4
Home Show TBA (Nov)

And to top things off-we just got home from the dr and Gabe may have pneumonia again and I'm exausted from being up all night with him last night. I had every intention of being at the torch today but sometimes you just need to get up in the morning and say "nope, no working today...too hard when you're practically cross-eyed from exaustion anyway"

Anyhow, here's a little pretty-gotta post with a picture, right?
I'm in a 'brights' mood this year so anything I whip up soon is going to be fun and colorful :)
*yawn* off to snuggle with Gabe for a few while he's napping...

Final SC pics-I swear!

So trav had heard about an old church that had been burnt down not once-but twice-wayyy out in Monck's Corner. We took a road trip out to check it out-quite off the beaten path. (that's the kind of stuff we love to explore)

It was neat but the best part for me was it was not far from Goose Creek-where I'd lived when I was younger-so we got to drive by and stalk my old neighborhood again...just one of these days I hope I'll get the nerve to stop at our old house and beg to see it-lol!

That evening we ended up at Home Team out on Sullivan's Island again-the BBQ is awesome.

yumz.

Gabe had been working hard to master 2 things: to whistle and to cross his eyes. he figured both out on the trip :)

:)

Goofy candids

Sawyer-building a "hermit crab house"

I'm assuming this is the smallest horseshoe crab ever??

I thought this was cute but just realised he looks like he's peeing or something
;)

and....AND!!! I got to spend almost all day with my friend Michelle again! Last year we saw each other for about an hour...This time we met up at the outlet mall then she and her daughter stole me and Chloe away to go to lunch, visit her mom and tour her new home under construction. We followed up with meeting my guys at the beach and hanging out for awhile..

Her daughter, Kaitlyn is 3 days younger than Chloe-they really clicked :)

We ended the evening at Shem Creek for dinner at Red's.

Greattt grouper sandwiches!

Those goofy girls taking pics of themselves.
{cooking up a slumber party plan?}

Yep-slumber party was had!
Here we are the next day at the Charles Pinkney home.
Just a place to wander around (for free) we didn't want to spend a bunch of $ since it looked like rain was coming in from the tropical storm in Fla...
but of coarse it hit the NEXT day)

Then I got a little emotional thinking about when growing up-Michelle was the primary person I usually spent the night with and had her at my home as well...and how odd it was that these 2 met only hours before, clicked and here they were having their own sleep over like we used to...*sniff*
I think it's neat.
Especially concidering I'd never thought I'd see any of my old friends again. I mean come on, I moved when I was 10, here I am at 39 and we're picking up like no time has passed-no awkwardness or anything-just simply amazing.

Gabe found all sorts of neat things of coarse.

Conchs
Thousands of them. Just hatched and crawling to the water.
Amazing- never seen anything like it!
This was our last evening. What a neat way to end our vacation.
